We're excited to announce a job opening for the role of Family Reunification Programs Coordinator within our organization.


In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in coordinating all aspects of our Family Reunification Program, providing essential support to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples with lived experience of homelessness who are residing at ACEH's Culturally Supportive Homes.


Position Type:
Full-time, Term, and On-Call.

Annual Salary:
$56,160 ($27 per hour) to $68,640 ($33 per hour)

Start Date:
Immediately

Location:2695 Blanshard Street and other ACEH sites as required.

Job Summary:The Family Reunification Programs Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the ACEH's Family Reunification Program at the Family Townhouse (FTH).

The FTH is available to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples with lived experience of homelessness that are living at one of the ACEH's Culturally Supportive Homes.

The ACEH's Family Reunification Program Coordinator supports the arrangement of meetings with social workers/guardians, coordinates visits, provides supervision as required, and oversees the general upkeep of the FTH.


In fiscal year , the ACEH is expanding the program to include healing circles for Indigenous Men focused on family violence survivors.

Additionally, the program will expand to include coordination of regular Elder support and healing circles for Elders on ACEH staff.


Role and Responsibilities:

Family Reunification Program Coordination

  • Ensure adherence to guidelines and policies outlined in the FTH booklet.
  • Respond to inquiries and referrals from family members, staff, and external organizations.
  • Liaise with support organizations like the Ministry of Children and Families Development for paperwork completion.
  • Conduct wellness checks or coordinate with SPAKEN House staff as needed.
  • Follow up with ACEH Family Members for feedback and process improvement.
  • Review safety policies as per relevant committees and Public Health Orders.
  • Connect Family Members with identified supports for a healthy and safe stay.
  • Manage 'Expressions of Interest Forms' and Applications, submitting them for approval.
  • Enforce ACEH Policies and Procedures, initiating due process for rule violations.
  • Network with Outreach Manager and House Managers for planning and delivery.
  • Coordinate cleaning, maintenance, and repairs, including laundry and supplies replenishment.
  • Participate in case management meetings as required.
Men & Elders Healing Circle Program

  • Develop a yearly workplan for men's circles and regular Elders' circles.
  • Coordinate all aspects of men's circles, including invitations, facilitator hiring, and venue booking.
  • Engage men from ACEH cohorts and work with program managers to build relationships.
  • Encourage men to reconnect with families and home communities.
  • Coordinate landbased healing events involving men's families with the Land-Based Healing Manager.
Administration

  • Update Case Administration Management System (CAMS) ensuring safe data collection.
  • Oversee administration and management of Family Reunification and Healing Circle budgets.
  • Support proposal writing and project reporting for program sustainability.
  • Fulfill other duties as required by the Director of Housing Operations.

Education & Experience

  • Preferred minimum of 1 year of project management/coordination and budget oversight experience.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations, family support, social services, and/or chronic homelessness is required.
  • Experience or personal insights into working cooperatively and non
- judgmentally with people with disabilities, lived experience, addictions, etc. is required.

  • Experience working with Indigenous peoples and an awareness of the impacts of colonization is required.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification is required.
  • Required to complete a criminal record check through the ministry of justice.
  • Required to have class 5 driver's license and working vehicle.

  • Knowledge of decolonial and culturally safe models of care.
