Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Superintendent to join our team at Kiewit Energy Canada. As a key member of our field supervision team, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects. Your responsibilities will include mentoring and growing junior superintendents, reviewing and approving labor rates, managing contract administration, and developing programs to maintain good client relations.

Our ideal candidate will have 6+ years of construction experience, with at least 1 year in a superintendent or leadership capacity. You will be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure their growth and success
  • Review and approve labor rates to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Manage contract administration to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Develop and implement programs to maintain positive client relationships
  • Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
  • Review and approve change orders to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Develop and implement plans for project completion and turnover
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure compliance with company policies
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of construction experience, with at least 1 year in a superintendent or leadership capacity
  • Strong organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions independently
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

• Regular, reliable attendance

• Work productively and meet deadlines timely

• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment

• Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

• May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
