Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory therapy, assisting with in-service education, and providing input into program development. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic/diagnostic strategies, and program-related issues.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy, including assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and providing support for initiating/maintaining mechanical ventilation support of adults, children, and infants.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including reports, records, and workload statistics, according to established departmental standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, such as developing, implementing, and evaluating written procedures and standards, and developing assessment forms and patient materials.
  • Provide in-service education as required and participate in meetings and departmental committees to contribute to problem identification and resolution.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications

We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist with:

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
