Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy program.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and mechanical ventilation support.
  2. Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including reports, records, and workload statistics, in accordance with established departmental standards.
  3. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals, therapeutic strategies, and program-related issues.
  4. Monitor and perform maintenance, cleaning, calibration, evaluation, and quality control of respiratory and related equipment, and report supply needs as required.
  5. Contribute to quality improvement activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of written procedures and standards, and the development of assessment forms and patient materials.
  6. Provide in-service education as required, and participate in meetings and departmental committees to contribute to problem identification and resolution.
  7. Participate in Respiratory Therapy student education and various in-services for staff and the community as required.
Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care credentialing exam are required. Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) is also required. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Level C, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to organize and prioritize work effectively. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position is also required.
