Family Plus is seeking a passionate and talented individual to join our team as a Clinical Lead. This is a full-time position for a therapist who will manage the clinical work at Family Plus and have a part-time case load seeing children, youth, and families.

Family Plus is a not-for-profit mental health care provider located in the vibrant coastal city of Saint John, N.B. We are a team of highly dedicated professionals who have been serving our local community with a 96-year track record of service excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Clinical Services at Family Plus, supervising students, training new team members, and leading the clinical team
  • Work with children and families in individual and group therapeutic settings
  • Recognize mental health disorders among children and develop treatment plans based on clinical symptoms and disorders
  • Treat child neurodevelopmental conditions through an ACE philosophy lens
  • Use a variety of therapeutic interventions, including person-centred, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, solution-focused, family systems, and cognitive-behavioural approaches
  • Advocate for the child and their family members from a culturally appropriate, trauma-informed perspective
  • Consult with in-house and external interdisciplinary professionals
  • Prepare and present training materials for multidisciplinary professionals on varying issues relating to mental health
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a counselling discipline
  • Post-graduate direct clinical experience
  • An insured member of a Professional Association (NBASW or CCTNB)
  • The ability to use techniques like motivational interviewing to facilitate client involvement and change
  • Experience leading a team
