Unit Clerk, Research Clinical Trials at BC Cancer in Vancouver, BC: Provide administrative support to healthcare teams, coordinate appointments, and maintain patient records.

As a collaborative member of the healthcare team, you will perform a variety of clerical duties, including:

  • Transcribing and processing clinician orders, scheduling tests and services, and communicating patient information.
  • Coordinating diagnostic and therapeutic services, preparing instructions for patients, and gathering patient information for medical appointments.
  • Performing receptionist duties, such as greeting patients, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.
  • Participating in the onboarding and orientation of staff, and supporting student clinical practicums.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, deal with others effectively, and operate related equipment.
  • Ability to organize work, utilize computer software applications, and commit to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities, and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism.
