About the Role

Under the direction of management, the Medical Laboratory Assistant will work in collaboration with laboratory staff to perform various functions, including:

  • Specimen procurement, receipt, and processing
  • Data entry and clerical duties
  • Media, reagent, and smear preparation
  • Sterilization and supply management
  • Customer service and troubleshooting

The successful candidate will be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, and may be required to interact with various stakeholders and clients. Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

About You

We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with:

  • A recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant Program or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle sharp instruments
  • Ability to accurately number and label specimens
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Meditech
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, part-time position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $26.27.
