Registered Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN) position available in an Oncology Clinic at BC Cancer in Vancouver, BC, providing holistic nursing care to patients with cancer.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Oncology Clinic, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with cancer, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, treatment coordination, and education. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring patient safety, and promoting a positive patient experience.
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and education, to patients with cancer.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as required by the care plan, and monitor patient reactions to treatment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, treatment plans, and patient education.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and procedures.
- Provide patient education and support to patients and families, and refer patients to other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for patients, families, and staff, adhering to emergency procedures and safety policies.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Current CPR (Level C) certification.
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
