This posting will be used to fill a one year term position working 60 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.
This job is based in the community of Dawson City in the beautiful Yukon.
Who we are
The Government of Yukon's Continuing Care division is known for its exceptional standards, providing clients with the highest level of care and a healthy workplace for staff. Continuing Care's mission is to provide comprehensive care and services, including long-term care, home care, and regional therapy services, to the people of the Yukon.
This Opportunity
The Yukon Home Care Program provides client-focused health services in the home, improving quality of life and supporting Yukoners to live independently. If you are a Registered Nurse who is passionate about working in a team-oriented environment and using evidence-based practices to improve the health and well-being of clients in their own homes, we would like to invite you to join us in Continuing Care. This role involves nursing-specific tasks and care coordination to promote independence and a meaningful quality of life for Home Care clients. You must be an excellent communicator and be very comfortable working in a cross-cultural community setting. Essential qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Eligible for Registered Nurse registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
- Recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices and techniques normally acquired through work experience while working with seniors, adults and/or children preferably in a long term care environment
- Team leader and/or supervisory experience would be an asset

Conditions of employment
You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
TB screening, Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance, CPR C-AED Level C, Food Safe Level 1, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (complete within last 18 months), WHMIS 2015, and current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association.

Shift work (days, evenings, and weekends), exposure to plants and/or flowers, animals, latex products, second-hand smoke from residents/clients, heavy lifting 50 lbs and over, bending.
