Your OpportunityThe primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Greet visitors and respond to inquiries in a friendly and efficient manner
- Assist visitors with sizing and fitting of ski/snowboard equipment while maximizing comfort and safety
- Explain proper use of ski and snowboard rental equipment as well as general safety practices to visitors
- Ensure that all documentation is completed and filed according to Rental Department protocols
- Ensure that skis and snowboards pass visual inspection and that all issued equipment meets safety protocols
- Receive returned rental equipment, following equipment check-in procedures
- Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings, nights and holidays), depending on visitation levels
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Previous related experience, knowledge of recreational programming is an asset
- Experience with point-of-sale procedures is an asset
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand, and walk/stand for long periods of time
- Successful candidates must complete and/or provide a copy of Bindings Certificate prior to first day of employment
- Other duties as assigned
- Starting at $17.00 per hour
- Part time and full-time hours available; hours may vary depending on availability
- The position's expected start date is December 7, 2024
- You will work in an inspiring setting with views of the Niagara Escarpment and no traffic lights for several miles
