We're a growing small team with goals to create something new, something connected, and something with global impact. We are looking for a VP of Engineering, who will report directly to our CEO & Founder, Deepak Dutt.

As our VP of Engineering, you will be building and leading a highly driven engineering team across the entire stack to push the boundaries of machine learning and current web, mobile and sensor based smart devices. You will be presented with exciting technological challenges that require solving engineering challenges and developing unique solutions under highly constrained environments such as running AI algorithms at the edge.

What we'll accomplish together:

Building, coding, and inventing solutions, co-authoring new and contributing to our patent portfolio.
Managing, directing, and coaching a growing high-performance engineering team. Overseeing the work of 5 to 15 people, establishing, managing processes to ship features. Coach the team to to evolve both their soft and technical skills.
Contributing to technical thought leadership via blogs, articles or speaking at conferences.
Partner with CEO/CTO to translate company strategy to operational planning, including mapping the size, capabilities, and structure of the product and engineering organization to what the company needs today and evolving at each stage of growth.
Design, develop and roadmap scalable, reliable, performant and extensible architectures and technical designs.
Cultivate a strong, transparent, and collaborative engineering culture.
Set and track goals and metrics for the engineering team to ensure accountability and delivery against the company's objectives, including managing overall engineering budgets.

A little about you:

Led a team of 5-15 engineers through rapid product and company growth phases.
Strong people management and leadership skills, caring about culture, and aligning the team to company values.
Track record of leading engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable technical solutions that solve product/business requirements.
Demonstrable thought leadership contribution speaking at conference and/or writing blogs, articles.
Solid software development/individual contributor experience.
Technical background and expertise to ensure credibility and trust; ability to understand engineering problems and contribute to architectural and technological discussions and decisions.
Flexibility and mental agility to adapt accumulated expertise and best practices to unique and continuously evolving settings.
Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills with the ability to explain approach to all levels in the organization including key stakeholders
