Project Manager Materials Engineering

Responsibilities:

Office tasks (90%):

  1. Responsible for the successful completion of assigned projects, from planning to billing
  2. Schedule tasks and monitor ongoing projects (schedule and budget)
  3. Coordinate the execution of projects across different sites
  4. Oversee the quality of work carried out in the field
  5. Attend project meetings (via Microsoft TEAMS or in person)
  6. Validate and compile test results from the field and the lab
  7. Check the compliance certificates that the contractor plans to use, verifying their alignment with plans and specifications and provide recommendations
  8. Draft and approve technical reports
  9. Inform clients and superiors about the progress of the work and maintain excellent customer service
  10. Monitor budgets allocated per project

Field tasks (10%):

  1. Engage and collaborate with fellow ABS professionals on site to harness collective expertise
Profile:

Education: To hold a university degree in civil engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in material testing.

Belonging as a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).

Technical Skills:

Experience overseeing multiple projects and leading a team of project engineers and/or civil technicians.

Regulatory Knowledge:

Understanding of both provincial and federal regulations.

Sampling Expertise:

Define the need for sampling, determine best practices and assess the reliability of results.

Data Interpretation:

Evaluate laboratory data and analysis.

Report:

Draft comprehensive reports.

Communication:

Capable of conveying findings to stakeholders, including property owners, regulators, and the public.

Driver License:

Hold a valid driver licence.
