About the Role

The Corporate Support Specialist will provide general and administrative support to the Corporate Group at Dentons. This role requires a unique blend of skills and experience, including drafting and preparing correspondence, accounts, and transactional documents, as well as maintaining lawyer's dockets and coordinating with the Accounting Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support
    • Drafting and preparing correspondence, accounts, and transactional documents
    • Maintaining lawyer's dockets and coordinating with the Accounting Department
    • Entering and maintaining client information and matter lists
  • Client Communication
    • Responding to client inquiries and conducting follow-up
    • Keeping lawyers apprised of interactions in their absence
  • File Management
    • Opening, maintaining, and putting away files
    • Maintaining precedent systems using the Firm protocol for knowledge management
  • General Administrative Duties
    • Processing incoming and outgoing mail
    • Preparing and updating cheque requisitions and expense reports
    • Updating and maintaining client/matter lists and current client contact records electronically
  • Teamwork and Confidentiality
    • Demonstrating a team approach and supporting colleagues
    • Ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business or related discipline
  • 5+ years solid work experience in a legal environment with working knowledge of corporate law
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procedures and corporate transaction documents
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of accounting/docketing systems and data management systems
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Professional client and telephone manner
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with little instruction or supervision
