Medical Laboratory Technologist required for a temporary full-time position in the Laboratory Medicine Program at the University Health Network, performing laboratory procedures and ensuring workload completion.
Job DescriptionThe University Health Network, a global leader in academic labs, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join its dynamic team of 700 dedicated staff. With over 30 million tests per year and 1,300 outpatients served daily, this is an opportunity to contribute to ground-breaking research, education, and exemplary service.
Responsibilities- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and work area
- Prepare written and electronic reports to document procedures and test results
- Participate in teaching, educational, safety, and quality improvement programs
- Observe and understand hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program
- Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists
- Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in Histology
- Ability to develop skills and knowledge in all areas of the laboratory
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management and communication skills
- Computer literacy and ability to work effectively as a team member
