About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in the Laboratory Medicine Program at the University Health Network. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the completion of assigned workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas
  • Prepare written and electronic reports to document procedures and test results
  • Participate in teaching, educational, safety, and quality improvement programs
  • Observe and understand hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO)
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in Histology
  • Ability to develop skills and knowledge in all areas of the laboratory
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures, instruments, equipment, and special techniques
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
  • Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols, and practices
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Ability to coach technical staff
