About Us:
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS) brings together four regional health authorities - Eastern Health, Central Health, Western Health, Labrador-Grenfell Health - and the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information. NLHS provides a broad range of programs and services to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) through an extensive suite of facilities, clinics, and community services, overseen by the five zones: Central, Eastern-Rural, Eastern-Urban, Labrador-Grenfell, and Western.
Job Summary:
This is an exciting, full-time (1.0 FTE) opportunity to contribute to employee and physician health and safety. Consideration will be given to candidates interested in a 0.5 position. The successful candidate will be a consultant to the occupational health team on matters related to complex return to work and medically related accommodations, communicable disease management, occupational disease, safety-related issues and other clinical activities performed by the Occupational Health team.
Required Qualifications
- hold a medical degree and must be eligible for licensure to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- The ideal candidate would hold a certification in Occupational Medicine.
- Current MRO (Medical Review Officer) verification and progressive experience in this field would be an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience in delivery of occupational health services in acute care facilities would be an asset.
- Travel across Zones may be required.
Remuneration:
The salary for this position is paid in accordance with the family medicine salary as outlined in Memorandum of Agreement between the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association.
