EHS Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Advisor to join our team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. As a key member of our Industrial Division, you will play a critical role in promoting a health, safety, and environmental culture within our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Support the night shift at our Sherwood Park Modyard
- Conduct safety orientations for workers, owners, and clients
- Train employees on Aecon's Health, Safety, and Environmental Manual
- Develop and implement workplace safety plans, including emergency response plans and environmental site safety plans
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, behavior-based observations, and audits
- Update Material Safety Data Sheets as required
- Develop and distribute safety materials, supplies, and equipment
- Present safety information to clients and promote Aecon's safety system to potential industry clients
- Conduct studies and analyze EHS data trends, recommending and monitoring corrective actions
- Assist with workers' compensation claims and develop return-to-work and modified work programs
- Investigate incidents and mediate health and safety issues for resolution
- Liaise with government agencies as required and prepare for external safety audits
- Coordinate environmental issues and gather EHS-based statistics
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the EHS field, with NCSO certification
- Preference given to candidates with CRST certification and OHS Certificate or Diploma
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with ability to adapt to changing environments
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
