We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Advisor to join our team at Aecon, a leading Canadian infrastructure development company. As a key member of our Industrial Division in Sherwood Park, Alberta, you will play a critical role in promoting a health, safety, and environmental culture across all levels of employees.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and maintain comprehensive safety plans, including emergency response plans, environmental plans, and site safety plans.
- Conduct Workplace Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect workplaces to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train and Educate Employees: Provide safety orientation, training, and education to employees on Aecon's Health, Safety, and Environmental Manual, as well as on specific safety topics such as fall protection, confined space entry, WHMIS, and respiratory protection.
- Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with employees, management, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Minimum 3-5 Years of Experience: In a similar role, with a strong background in health, safety, and environmental management.
- Relevant Certifications: Possess certifications such as NCSO, CRST, and OHS Certificate or Diploma.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
