Job Summary

Centre de Santé Saint-Boniface is seeking a Health Care Aide to join our team. As a Health Care Aide, you will provide basic supportive care to patients and assist with daily tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding patients.
  • Help patients with mobility and transfer activities.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide certificate program.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Ability to perform as a team member and seek assistance as necessary.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be exposed to stressful situations. The candidate must be able to lift and move heavy patients and work in a variety of settings, including hospitals and long-term care facilities.
