Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our long-term care home, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of equipment and systems, to ensure the facility remains in good working order.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Supervise and manage the housekeeping and laundry departments to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Budgeting and Inventory Management: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, as well as oversee inventory management and control.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as maintain high standards of quality in all aspects of maintenance and housekeeping.
Requirements
  • Education: Two-year post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Services/Building Services Management or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French.
  • Certifications: Health and safety certification is an asset.
