Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Composite Sanding Specialist to join our team at Airbus Canada. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for sanding and preparing aircraft composite panels for painting and priming.

Main Responsibilities
  • Sanding and Preparation
    • Operate air-powered orbital sanders, sanding blocks, and sandpaper to sand composite panels
    • Mix and apply filling compounds to pin holes and imperfections
    • Repeat the sanding process until the surface is free from imperfections
  • Preparation and Cleaning
    • Use compressed air to blow off dust from sanded panels
    • Wash composite panels with recommended solvents
    • Investigate panels for defects before painting
  • Masking and Protection
    • Apply masking tape and paper to unpainted areas
  • Departmental Involvement
    • Troubleshoot and recommend process improvements
    • Foster a safe and healthy work environment
    • Demonstrate standard work practices to ensure quality standards
    • Ensure work areas and equipment are clean and organized
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience
    • Experience with sanding and prepping is an asset
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of quality requirements and standards

Working Conditions
