Wastewater Treatment Operator I

Summary: We are seeking a certified wastewater treatment operator to perform equipment operation, maintenance, and sampling tasks in a team environment.
We are looking for a passionate and skilled professional in the wastewater treatment industry who is interested in expanding their knowledge and experience. As a committed Certified Operator, you will work efficiently, safely, and cooperatively within a team environment.
This role involves:
- Operating and monitoring equipment throughout the plant.
- Maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, motors, valves, and instruments.
- Performing process sampling operations and simple laboratory tests.
- Lubricating and cleaning machinery and equipment, and performing general maintenance work.
- Assisting in maintaining operating records.
- Operating ancillary equipment such as trucks, small tractors, lawn mowers, and pressure washers.
- Assisting in developing documentation for work-related procedures.
- Working in compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
To be successful, you will need:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- British Columbia EOCP Class I MWWT Operators Certification, or the ability to secure it.
- British Columbia Boiler Operator or higher level certification for Plants where certification is required.
- Effective communication and computer skills.
- Working knowledge of process equipment and occupational hazards.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to adapt to rotating shift work and/or be available for standby duty.
- Valid B.C. driver's license.
