**Salary Range/Wage Rate:** $3,116.86 bi-weekly plus 6.25% deferred compensation
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate professional to join our team as a Wastewater Treatment Operator I - Shift. As a key member of our Liquid Waste Services Department, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring equipment, performing maintenance and repair tasks, and assisting in process sampling operations and laboratory tests.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor equipment throughout the plant, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, and instruments.
- Assist in process sampling operations and simple laboratory tests, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- Lubricate and clean machinery and equipment, and perform general maintenance work throughout the plant.
- Assist in maintaining operating records and documentation.
- Operate ancillary equipment, such as trucks, small tractors, lawn mowers, and pressure washers.
- Assist in the development of documentation for work-related procedures.
- Work in compliance with all District safety policies, procedures, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Possess or be able and qualified to secure British Columbia EOCP Class I MWWT Operators Certification.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to undertake additional training relating to the duties of the position, including progress towards WWTPO IV Certification.
- British Columbia Boiler Operator or higher level certification for Plants where certification of Operators is required for compliance with the Power Engineers and Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act of British Columbia.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively use computer applications related to the position and duties.
- Working knowledge of process equipment and occupational hazards.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
- Willingness and ability to adapt to rotating shift work and/or be available for standby duty if required.
- Valid B.C. driver's license.
