Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist to join our team at Provincial Laboratory Medicine Services. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory and x-ray procedures, including hematology, coagulation, and chemistry tests, as well as general x-ray procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily routine duties in both laboratory and x-ray departments, including quality control and safety procedures.
- Work on hematology, coagulation, and chemistry benches, and perform daily quality control as required.
- Run patient samples and reports, and receive blood components and products.
- Assign and dispense uncross-matched red cells, albumin, RHIG, IVIG, plasma, and cross-matched red cells.
- Transport blood components and products, and quarantine and discard of blood products.
- Perform inpatient and outpatient phlebotomies, and prepare films for physicians and radiologists.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs, and perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Provide on-call services as required, and carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Graduation from a recognized Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology Program.
- Eligible for registration with a provincial licensing body.
- Completion of the NAIT TRAM 101 Course, or minimum one year recent related experience or program/curriculum based instruction in transfusion medicine or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
