We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks related to laboratory and x-ray test procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Laboratory Work: Perform daily routine duties in both laboratory and x-ray departments, including phlebotomies, quality control, and equipment maintenance.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs, including documentation and monitoring of quality control.
- Clerical Functions: Perform clerical tasks such as inventory control, data entry, and communication with healthcare professionals.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory and x-ray equipment.
- Training and Development: Participate in the orientation of new employees and conduct in-services as required.
- Education: Graduation from a recognized Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology Program.
- Registration: Eligible for registration with a provincial licensing body.
- Experience: Completion of the NAIT TRAM 101 Course, minimum one (1) year recent, related experience or program/curriculum based instruction in transfusion medicine or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Procedures: Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures, and technical competence to perform tests used in the assigned section of the laboratory, including quality control and safety.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Competitive Salary: $45.81 per hour.
