Medical Laboratory Assistant required to assist in sample triaging, accessioning, and processing of specimens, perform phlebotomies, and maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines.

Shared Health is a leading organization in Manitoba, responsible for planning and coordinating patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across the province.

The Medical Laboratory Assistant will work under the supervision of the Charge Technologist, assisting in the laboratory's role of sample triaging, accessioning, and processing of specimens. The MLA may also perform some basic routine procedures according to established protocols.

The ideal candidate will have previous related experience, completed Grade 12 or equivalent, and Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification. They will also possess strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, ensuring compliance with quality assurance programs, and adhering to professional and provincial guidelines.

  • Previous related experience
  • Completed Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Fluent language skills in English and French
  • Ability to perform duties as described
