As a key member of our shelter staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our clients and guests.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

* Providing emotional support and crisis intervention to individuals in need
* Monitoring the activities of guests and being available for personal, practical, and moral support
* Accurately recording day-to-day happenings and incidents using established methods
* Assisting guests in accessing clean and dry clothing and laundry services
* Coordinating guest care as it relates to security issues
* Carrying out inspections and performing janitorial duties as required

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be required to:

* Serve meals, snacks, and beverages to guests
* Perform other duties as assigned by management

**Qualifications and Education Requirements:**

* Completed grade 12 high school diploma
* Food Safe Level 1 or willingness to obtain
* CPR First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
* WHMIS Training and Universal Precautions Training
* Note: an alternative level of education and experience may be considered

* Empathy for those in need and compassion for individuals struggling with addictions, mental health barriers, and other challenges
