About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our team at Intact. As a Payroll Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and record payroll transactions accurately and within prescribed deadlines, adhering to applicable Canadian and provincial legislation.
  • Analyze and resolve payroll-related requests from employees, serving as a liaison between internal support groups and third-party service providers.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and prioritization skills to manage a high volume of work.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret corporate policies, labor relations, and government policies, providing expert payroll guidance.
  • Support our call center by responding to employee inquiries and resolving payroll-related issues.
  • Reconcile and analyze overpayments, making payment arrangements based on established reimbursement policies.
  • Participate in process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Propose innovative solutions to improve current processes and communicate changes to the team.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of payroll functions, legislation, and tax rules applicable in Canada.
  • National Payroll Institute PCP certification (an asset) or in progress.
  • A minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Strong client/customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, good judgment, and autonomy.
  • Excellent prioritization, deadline management, and stress management skills.
  • Good understanding of Workday.
  • Excellent problem-solving and judgment skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Office suite - intermediate.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required.
