Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) Role

This Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) role is a critical position within our organization, responsible for developing and maintaining complex financial models related to revenue recognition, cost of producing revenue, and inventory valuation.

  • Develop and manage accounting models for major revenue recognition, cost of producing revenue, and inventory valuation.
  • Perform assessments and updates to models such as dealer in transit, warranty, inventory triangulation/obsolescence, shrink, FX reasonability, and sales return.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for new business initiatives, ensuring appropriate accounting decisions are made and working with the accounting group to ensure execution.
  • Provide monthly updates to Corporate and Business Unit (BU) reporting groups on significant changes and decisions taken for each BU.
  • Support business units with month-end reporting and analysis of revenue and margin.
  • Support inquiries from various groups within the business.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as required.

Key Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects and drive key business results under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to influence and persuade different points of view.
  • Ability to work independently and in an ambiguous environment.
  • Action-oriented and comfortable taking calculated risks to better serve our customers and business.
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Collaborative team player with superior influencing skills.
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning & HFM, Peoplesoft accounting systems, and MS Access is an asset.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a medium to large company, accounting department, or accounting firm.
  • Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CGA, CA, CMA or equivalent).
  • Self-starter attitude with willingness to learn and master new technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong time management and self-management skills.
