We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our team at the Op-Oncology Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and process clinician orders, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients, coordinating appointments and communicating with patients and healthcare teams.
- Gather patient information and prepare documents for clinical teams, ensuring efficient patient flow.
- Provide receptionist duties, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.
- Participate in onboarding and orientation of staff, supporting student clinical practicums as needed.
Requirements:
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to keyboard 40 wpm and operate related equipment.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
