This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to perform technical functions of a civil engineering nature. Under the direction of the Utilities Superintendent, the ideal candidate will possess:

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized educational institution, or equivalent academic training and experienceConsiderable years) in civil/municipal engineering field specifically related to project management and contract administrationSound experience in the use of MS Office, GIS, AutoCAD and related softwareExperience in water/sewer planning and project delivery is considered an assetValid BC Class 5 Drivers LicenseThorough knowledge of civil engineering principles, terminology, practices and techniquesConsiderable knowledge of legislated civil construction codes and regulationsStrong organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsStrong office computer skillsAbility to deal with contractors and consultants in a professional and timely mannerAbility to interpret and apply City and other bylaws, policies, procedures, engineering design standards and specificationsAbility to work well as part of a team and independentlyPhysical ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the day; occasionally attend and inspect construction sites including climbing in and out of ditches and trenches; ability to work in inclement weatherOther duties as assigned
