Chef Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Hoss & Jill's Bistro. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as managing kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prepare menus, determining food portion sizes and estimating food requirements and costs.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers, including ordering supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for staff and customers.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate of $17.40.
  • 40 hours per week, permanent, full-time position.
