**Communications Officer (Digital Strategies) at Carleton University**
The Communications Officer (Digital Strategies) is responsible for developing and implementing digital communications campaigns to promote the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs and engage with various stakeholders.
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Communications, the Communications Officer provides strategic communications and marketing advice, with a focus on digital strategies and solutions for the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs (FPGA). The incumbent acts as the strategic digital communications resource for the Office of the Dean and all units within the Faculty.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Plan, develop, and produce integrated and targeted digital communications campaigns to support the Faculty's strategic goals
* Provide strategic recommendations to Chairs and Directors and guidance and training to communications members in the FPGA units
* Coordinate the customer relationship management (CRM) system to plan for and analyze campaigns
* Write and proofread content for various stories, social media, promotional and marketing materials
* Supervise the Student Content Creator team
* Ensure the faculty maintains graphic and communication standards
**Qualifications:**
* In-depth experience in developing branding, advertising, and marketing campaigns
* Expertise in designing, developing, and implementing digital communication strategies and campaigns
* Significant experience in websites and social media, including content creation, maintenance, and monitoring
* Expertise in digital layout and/or graphic design for web, email, and social media
* Professional experience in digital photography, videography, and digital editing
* Demonstrated understanding of how to communicate on the web and in social media
* Expertise in the use of MS Office, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Hubspot or similar programs
* In-depth experience evaluating technologies and digital communications initiatives and campaigns
* Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
* Experience supervising or leading a part-time staff team
* Proven ability to develop, create, write, and edit content to strict and frequent deadlines
* Strong time management, organizational, and planning skills
* Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
* Strong research, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
**Education and Experience:**
* University honours degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or English
* Five years of related communications, marketing, and digital content creation experience
* Experience must include at least three years of creating digital campaigns, capturing and editing photography and videography, and conducting analysis for the development of digital communication strategies for targeted engagement
