Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, Server Assistants provide support to Servers by ensuring all tables are properly set, clean, and complete. They possess exceptional knowledge of all food and beverage items and practice a high level of floor awareness.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant functions and services.
- Assist with food running, ensuring plates arrive at the correct table.
- Monitor the cleanliness of the section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter.
- Communicate with Servers and Hosts to maximize seating.
- Practice a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as required.
- Ensure condiments are pre-portioned and fridges are stocked with essentials.
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards.
- Follow all food safety standards and systems.
- Empty garbage, change linen bags, and dispose of waste and recycling.
- Communicate guest comments to Servers to ensure a positive experience.
- A degree or diploma in Hospitality or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Smart Serve Certification is a requirement.
- High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Organizational skills and ability to take direction and prioritize.
- Strong oral communication skills and high level of product knowledge.
