Job Description
As a Server Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our front-of-house team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support to our servers by inspecting tables for proper mise en place, cleanliness, and completeness. You will also be responsible for practicing a high level of floor awareness and having exceptional knowledge of all food and beverage items.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist servers with food running and ensure that plates arrive at the correct table
- Monitor the cleanliness of the section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
- Communicate with servers and hosts to maximize seating
- Practice a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as required
- Ensure condiments are pre-portioned and fridges are stocked with essentials
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards
- Follow all food safety standards and systems
- Empty garbage, change linen bags, and dispose of garbage and recycling
- Communicate guest comments and information to servers to ensure a positive experience
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent considered an asset
- Smart Serve Certification a requirement
- High attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills
- Ability to take direction and prioritize
- Strong oral communication skills
- High level of product knowledge
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
