The Human Resources Advisor will provide support to the HR team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services to clients within ATCO EnPower. You will be responsible for a wide range of human resource management activities including recruitment, orientation and onboarding, position management and reporting, offboarding and working with the Employee Resource Centre (ERC) to ensure employee data maintenance in Oracle HCM. Key responsibilities of this role include both tactical and transactional support to clients and the HR team with the opportunity to contribute strategically

What You Get To Do:

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for internal and external hiring; including intake meetings, using the ATS tracking system, develop and advertise job postings, prescreen resumes, conduct phone interviews, schedule interviews, complete reference and security checks, draft offer letters, etc.
  • Ensure business hiring objectives and requirements are being met both timely and qualitatively
  • Ensure recruitment cycle compliance with related employment standards, human rights and CBAs.
  • Develop, implement and facilitate a New Employee Orientation session to help new employees learn about ATCO EnPower setting them up for success
  • Coordinate, monitor and report on annual HR programs
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partners to and assist leaders and employees with development plans, goal setting and improvement plans
  • Mange the offboarding process with employees to ensure a smooth transition
  • Act as the subject matter expert on the Oracle system and provide guidance to new employees with inquiries relating to the system.
  • Ensure all employee and payroll changes are completed accurately and submitted to the Employee Resource Centre in a timely manner, meeting all prescheduled payroll cutoffs. Follow up with ERC when required.
  • Part of Position Management taskforce and ensure governance of position management
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Operations Training team
  • Maintain variety of reporting for HR team and the business

Who You Are:

  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business, Communications, HR Management or related discipline is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an advisory HR role, including recruitment experience
  • General knowledge of HR practices and processes, and employment laws; broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, training and development, change management and HR systems
  • Strong skills in MS Office suite; experience in Oracle Cloud is an asset
  • Strong analytical abilities coupled with common sense and good judgment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude toward changes and continuous improvement; ability to develop new ideas linking HR to best practices and efficiencies
  • Proven ability to provide superior client service in a support role
  • Focus on delivery
  • Diplomacy and confidentiality in dealing with situations of a sensitive nature; skilled at relating to many different types of people
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
