  • Play a key role in delivering on the City's Action Plan for Toronto's Culture Sector
The Senior Arts Development Coordinator will report to the Manager, Cultural Partnerships, and be responsible for:
  • Coordinating and supervising cultural grant and incentive programs
  • Planning and forming partnerships and developing special projects
  • Establishing and executing contracts and agreements with grant recipients and partner organizations
  • Developing and implementing plans, policies, and procedures for program requirements
  • Preparing briefing notes and reports for senior management and City Council
  • Evaluating cultural grant, incentive, and partnership programs
  • Communicating with City Divisions, Agencies, artists, and cultural organizations
  • Providing strategic advice and managing issues on arts and cultural initiatives
  • Leading project teams and groups to advance project deliverables
  • Mentoring and training staff
  • Collaborating with project team members to ensure effective teamwork and high standards of work quality
  • Providing input into and administering assigned operating budget
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in managing cultural programs, including program budgets and evaluation
  • Considerable experience in leading and motivating project teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Toronto's arts and cultural sector
  • Cultural competency in working with Indigenous, Black, and equity-deserving communities
  • Ability to support the Toronto Public Service values
