Seeking a Health Care Aide to provide therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions with patients, assist with daily living, and support patients in a safe manner.

Job Description:

The Health Care Aide participates as an active member of the treatment team, carrying out specific therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions with patients based on recovery/treatment plans. The incumbent provides patients with supervision and guidance, assistance with personal care, comfort and support in going about daily living, therapeutic and recreational activities in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care and support to patients with disabilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities
  • Provide therapeutic and recreational activities
  • Work as part of a treatment team to develop and implement patient care plans

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and prioritize workload
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring and transporting patients and equipment
