Early Careers: Retirement Actuarial Delivery Group Internship

Join our team as an intern in the Actuarial Delivery Group and contribute to a range of retirement valuations, post retirement plans valuations and special projects.
About the RoleAs an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of pension and post retirement plans and the typical actuarial work we do. You will employ the most cutting-edge tools and resources to complete required projects involving valuation data, government filing and pension benefit calculations.
Responsibilities- Participate in training sessions and actively engage in learning opportunities
- Perform actuarial valuations and prepare valuation reports
- Perform data analysis and reconciliations of pension plan or post retirement plan participant data
- Perform pension benefit calculations using established spreadsheets or our proprietary plan administration system
- Prepare government reporting forms and annual employee benefit statements
- Support special projects as needed
- Work with other colleagues to ensure that each project is completed on time and meets quality standards
- Respond to requests and communications effectively and efficiently
- Current university student (at least second year) in actuarial sciences or a program with heavy emphasis on mathematics, statistics or engineering
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Organized, detail-oriented, effective time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
- Strong client delivery orientation
- Ability to work both independently and on client teams
- Ability to apply problem solving techniques in a business environment
- Fluency in French and English, both oral and written
