The Enterprise Insider Risk Management Group (EIRM) serves as a Second Line of Defence and owns the development and deployment of enterprise-wide insider risk management policies. TD is exposed to insider risk in many of its activities. Insider risk exposure is inherent in the normal course of operating TD's businesses and insider risk continues to evolve, leading to new or emerging threats.
The proactive and effective management of insider risk is complex given the extent of the exposure. The Bank manages insider risk to support sustained trust and confidence in TD by our customers, employees, communities, markets, investors, and regulators.
Enterprise Insider Risk Management
The Enterprise Insider Risk Management (EIRM) Mandate is to provide effective enterprise-wide oversight of insider risk. EIRM develops and updates, as appropriate, the insider risk framework, policies, standards, and guidelines that hold the First Line Business Units accountable to enterprise requirements that are aligned to this Framework. EIRM owns and distributes a quarterly Insider Risk Profile to report on the status and direction of insider risk. Where appropriate, EIRM will provide necessary support, guidance and effective challenge to the First Line Business Units who own and manage insider risk activities on a day-to-day basis.
About this role
Enterprise Insider Risk Management is fully independent of the business lines as a second line of defense risk management function. - Lead and execute data/business analysis using various internal data sources to produce the quarterly risk profile of enterprise insider risk management.
- Provide comprehensive analytical support, interpretation of complex data and generate multi-dimensional insights that provide a holistic view of insider risk management and identify themes, emerging requirements that require action.
- Work in partnership with business segments to present or generate appropriate insights including the delivery of supporting collateral and/or presentations.
- Research and analyze industry intelligence and incorporate within internal reporting.
- Review and assess all current insider key risk indicators to determine effectiveness and develop new insider key risk metrics as required.
- Update reporting to provide a jurisdictional view of insider risk, and commentary where applicable.
- Update reporting to include a more in-depth summary of the completion of the self-assessment by the business segments/corporate functions and include insights on themes or systemic concerns across business segments, along with relevant action plans identified to close any gaps.
- Develop an internal annual attestation process with key data owners of data used by Enterprise Insider Risk Management to attest and to provide a level of evidence of their own testing/validation confirming the data shared is accurate and complete and fit for reporting purposes.
- Provide consultative support, business insight, advice, and expertise to guide decision making and/or strategic planning by leveraging and interpreting data and analytical models to provide business specific or broad strategic insight and using a variety of audience-specific communication techniques.
- Provide oversight and challenge of the first line's insider risk reporting.
- Lead the development of and management of the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) measure at the enterprise, U.S. and Segment level.
- Provide people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required.
- Work with the various business segments in the event of a segment Insider RAS breach to document root cause and remediation plans.
- Support all relevant projects and initiatives to ensure project data and reporting requirements are met.
- Build and maintain detailed documentation on all projects/requests.
- Ensure all projects are delivered according to department standards and guidelines.
- Set operational team direction to align, collaborate and execute on common goals.
