The Opportunity


Altrad is currently in search of an experienced Training Lead to become a vital part of our team at a prominent Construction Project situated in Kitimat, BC. This role entails a 14:7 roster (or 20:8 roster – depending on the point of hire), working 10 hours per day. Flights and accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates on a Full-Time/Fixed-Term Contract basis. As the Training Lead, your responsibilities will include liaising with the HSSE team to organize new hire training, managing Training Enquiry and Approval Forms (TEAF’s), coordinating orientations and workshops, scheduling training sessions, tracking attendance and feedback, and uploading training records into the LMS. You'll collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs, develop customized programs, and evaluate and improve training effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be able to provide accurate and timely contract data and information. If you have a proven track record in training coordination, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of learning and development, we invite you to apply.


Job Responsibilities

  • Directly liaising with the HSSE team to organize and arrange any required training for new starters.
  • Receive and respond to Training Enquiry and Approval Forms (TEAF’s) from site leads or administrators.
  • Responsible for coordinating orientations for new hires on-site.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
  • Track and report on training attendance, feedback, and effectiveness.
  • Processing of non-accredited training and VOC assessment paperwork, uploading into the LMS and sending through copies of associated certificates to stakeholders.
  • Management of the SLaM and/or other leadership bookings.
  • Work closely with Department leaders to identify training needs and assist in the development of customized programs.
  • Loading of new employee data into Record Management Systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to training programs based on participant feedback and performance outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of training materials, manuals, and other documentation.
  • Provide administrative support for training initiatives, including maintaining training records and databases.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in training and development.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and capability to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and consistent with your professional qualifications, skills, and experience.


Job Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Training Lead, Training Coordinator or similar role.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry.
  • Experienced in the use of Record Management Systems
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office and Sharepoint.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality training programs.
  • High level of understanding of the qualifications frameworks and training requirements within the Resources, Oil and Gas and Construction Industries.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
