MISSION: The Director, Finance & Accounting is a results-driven leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting for Indigo Books & Music Inc. This role includes managing various functional areas of accounting, including reporting, banking, and internal audit, as well as ensuring compliance with IFRS.

KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS:
  1. Timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
  2. Ensuring adherence to IFRS standards.
  3. Development of a high-functioning accounting team through strong leadership.
  4. Involvement in accurate and timely cash flow forecasting.
  5. Ensuring company-wide compliance with internal controls.
  6. Ability to develop and execute process improvements that drive accuracy and efficiency.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Oversee the delivery of financial reporting and variance analysis.
  2. Ensure accounting compliance with IFRS.
  3. Monitor new accounting pronouncements and communicate changes.
  4. Lead internal audit functions and maintain internal control narratives.
  5. Prepare income tax returns and sales tax returns.
  6. Act as a liaison with external auditors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. CPA designation required.
  2. University degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  3. Minimum of 7 years of audit, accounting, and/or reporting experience.
  4. Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
