Position Summary:
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Finance will play a key role in both strategic planning and day-to-day financial operations. This includes overseeing financial reporting, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing critical financial insights to drive business decisions. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator, capable of rolling up their sleeves to execute key financial tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Financial Reporting:

  1. Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  2. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  3. Manage and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  4. Prepare financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, including the executive team and board of directors.
  5. Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and manage the audit process.
  6. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a growing business.
  7. Assist with annual insurance renewals and ongoing compliance.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  1. Lead and actively participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop financial plans aligned with business goals.
  2. Provide detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning, to support strategic decision-making.
  3. Continuously monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending actions to the executive team.
  4. Develop and maintain robust financial models to support business planning, fundraising, and investor relations efforts.
  5. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required to support operational and strategic initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  2. Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive business growth.
  3. Act as a key advisor to the executive team on financial matters, including capital allocation, investment opportunities, and risk management.
  4. Partner with other departments to support operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CFA preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, with a focus on financial reporting and FP&A.
  3. Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  4. Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS, financial modeling, and financial analysis techniques.
  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  6. High level of integrity, with a commitment to ethical financial management and compliance.
  7. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
