Job Summary:

The Sales Manager’s (SM) primary responsibilities will be sales, servicing and building relationships with the Weber dealer network within the Eastern region (QC,NB,PEI & NFLD) and will be based out of Ottawa or NB. This consists of the Weber family of gas grills, charcoal grills, and grilling accessories. The SM will achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration by effectively selling the company’s products and/or services. He/she will report directly to the Senior Regional Sales Manager (SRSM). This role follows a remote model. The successful candidate MUST be native/proficient bilingual (French/ English).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
  • The Sales Manager establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory, to generate new business for the organization
  • Visit customer locations to develop strong knowledge of needs, problems, interests and competitive activities
  • Conducts dealer presentations and executes marketing programs
  • Educates and advises dealers on product features and advantages and benefits in relation to the competitive landscape
  • Reports to the SRSM on customer needs, problems, interests, market intelligence and potential new customer development opportunities utilizing regular weekly call reports, conference calls and CRM input
  • Analyzes the territory’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers’ value to the organization
  • Executes annual business plans for the territory in collaboration with the SRSM
  • Provides input to aid in forecasting of Weber products within the territory, particularly with key and new customers
  • Provides product training for all Weber products ensuring that all customers are equipped with up-to-date product knowledge, customer programs, service agreements, and any other support information
  • Works various trade shows throughout the year representing Weber and supporting assigned customers
  • Ensures that all Weber customers are in compliance with Weber retail standards and policies (Minimum Advertised Price, transshipping, foreign shipments, etc.)
  • Adheres to company policy with regards to daily use of the CRM tool for field time management and activity reporting


Education, Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • Bilingual (French/ English)- Proficient French required
  • Post-Secondary Education or a minimum of 5+ years related sales experience
  • Wholesale sales experience, preferably in consumer product goods, premium brands as asset
  • Proven success developing, presenting, and implementing business plans
  • Experience in the hardware class of trade an asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills
  • Highly enthusiastic and hands-on business approach
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to write coherent reports and produce clear and accurate business reports
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from his/her management team, associates, retailers and independent dealers
  • Ability to quickly identify key decision makers and stakeholders involved in the purchase decision
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from the Province of residence to include a clean driving record
  • Must be able to drive long distances in excess of 100 kms several times a month
  • Overnight travel may be required


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to occasionally lift light weight boxes, assemble grills, work trade show and showroom floors, and travel primarily in the assigned territory
  • Carrying company laptop/bag and corporate marketing material (POP) into dealers
  • Considerable walking is required in and out of retail stores and convention centers.


Work Environment:

  • Primary work completed in the home office and retail store environments
  • Office work includes home offices and retail buyer offices
  • Retail store environment includes retail floors, backrooms, in-store offices, outdoor merchandising areas, and showrooms
