This is a contract position for an ongoing need; the initial contract is anticipated to be 12 months in duration, then further extended as required. Our client is seeking one candidate for Underground operations and one candidate for Surface operations.

Responsibilities:
The Junior Project Manager manages capital projects, ensures safety, budget adherence, and timely execution.

  • Develop and execute Capital Projects including scope, schedule, budget, and risk
  • Manage projects within the site owner’s Project Management Framework
  • Develop project scope with appropriate stakeholders
  • Secure project materials and resources by utilizing the site’s procurement process
  • Perform field visits to coordinate material and labor resources and ensure work is safely progressing according to plan
  • Monitor and forecast project budget and schedule to ensure plans are on track
  • Identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Meet specific project KPI’s as required
  • Perform Continuous Improvement of the Project Management Process

Education and Experience:

  • University degree or technical diploma (mechanical background preferred)
  • Eligible, or in pursuit, of a PMP or CAPM designation
  • Maintenance, project, and/or operational experience at an operating facility or a heavy industrial site is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle varied workloads.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles (PMBOK).
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software programs

Job Type: Fixed term contract
