Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Manager works closely with employees and senior management and is responsible for all aspects of the employment lifecycle of 85+ employees from workforce planning, talent recruitment and management, compensation, as well as being responsible for payroll processing (ADP), occupational health and safety, benefits administration, performance management, and employee relations.


This position is an on-site role and not eligible for hybrid or remote work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the full recruitment and retention process for all departments, including onboarding and offboarding of all employees
  • Process bi-weekly payroll via ADP
  • Manage all facets of occupational health and safety and the organization’s safety policy, including oversight of OHS committees
  • Assess and manage hazards and risks in the workplace
  • Provide coaching and support to managers with respect to leadership and people management strategies, including performance and attendance management and discipline as required
  • Provide conflict resolution - including handling complaints and settling disputes
  • Monitor employee attendance and work with employees and managers on attendance improvement goals
  • Create and maintain all JDAs and PDAs
  • Administer employee benefit plan
  • Create and maintain company policies and procedures
  • Complete reporting and act as liaison to external agencies including AB Workers’ Compensation (WCB), Service Canada and benefit providers

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years successful experience working in a Human Resources generalist or management role
  • Experience with payroll processing (preferably ADP) and benefits administration is an asset
  • Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Alberta Workers’ Compensation Act required
