Job Summary

The Vice President, National Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy to drive revenue growth across the Canadian market. This role involves managing a high-performing family wealth advisory team, cultivating strong relationships, and ensuring the organization's investment solutions and financial planning services achieve widespread adoption delivering Life and Legacy brand promise. The VP will collaborate closely with marketing, investment committee, and executive teams to align sales strategies with broader business objectives.

This role is ideal for a results-driven leader with a passion for sales and a deep understanding of the investment industry, who thrives in a dynamic and competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve organic revenue and market share targets.
  • Develop a strategic business plan for the year, with established metrics and activities, with each Family Wealth team and review it quarterly to ensure results of the team
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop plans for market penetration
  • Establish client retention strategies relevant to the unique nature of each Family Wealth Advisor

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of family wealth advisors
  • Set performance goals, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance reviews, where applicable
  • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability within the sales organization
  • Work closely with marketing team and investment committee to ensure sales efforts align with product offerings and promotional campaigns
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements in sales activities.
  • Working alongside VP, Corporate Development to attract and retain Family Wealth Advisors across the country who embrace The Bellwether Way

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with client facing advisors and wealth managers
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and professional development meetings with advisor teams.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Analyze sales data to track progress against targets, identify areas for improvement, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Prepare and present detailed sales performance reports to executive leadership.
  • Leverage CRM tools to maintain accurate records of advisor interactions and sales activities

Qualifications

  • Established senior management people leadership experience
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in sales within the investment or financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of leading national or large-scale sales teams and achieving revenue targets.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field
  • CIM or CFA would be considered an asset
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Knowledge and application of AML procedures. Past training an asset
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret market trends and sales data.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills

Working conditions

  • This is a hybrid role which will report into our Oakville office at least 3 days/week.
  • Travel is required in this role to attend meetings and oversee family wealth advisors
