Position Summary

The Execution Excellence, Manager – Alternative Channel (EEM) is a national role responsible for leading the definition and implementation of the national execution strategy and initiatives for the Express and Food Service Channels, including Gas & Convenience stores, Pharmacies, Wholesalers, Restaurants, Hotels, Cafeterias, and other independent accounts, to achieve profitable sales growth, people growth, market share growth, customer relationship and brand health.

Reporting to the National Field Sales Director, Alternative Channel, the EEM builds and implements execution standards, training, merchandising tools, and customer service parameters engaging and empowering cross-functional teams and a network of Independent Operators & Distributors to execute with excellence and deliver on accountabilities.

The primary objective is to positively impact the sales team by leading, developing and motivating them to maximize sales, driving continuous improvement of processes, and shaping future strategy and direction within alternative channels.

The EEM owns the Execution Excellence Playbook-Alternative Channels throughout the regions with the objective of driving growth of our people, our customers, and the business.

By focusing on execution excellence within Alternative Channels, this role is crucial for driving innovation, enhancing customer engagement, and achieving business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance sales and distribution
  • Collaborate with senior management to align alternative channel strategies with overall business objectives
  • Identify new opportunities for growth and expansion within alternative channels
  • Conduct training workshops for potential onboarding of “New” Express Independent Operators & Distributors
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to ensure high standards of execution
  • Identify and develop best practices and process improvement to optimize channel performance
  • Oversee the integration and performance of various alternative channel customers from a growth and execution stand point
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to develop commercial execution strategies
  • Conduct training for the Field Sales team
  • Work with Commercial Teams to develop and optimize point-of-sale material inventory and orders (Racks/POS elements/Branding)
  • Work with Marketing & Network Development Teams to elevate brand awareness
  • Collaborate with Customer Business Team (Key accounts) on vision and strategy for express retail banners
  • Develop and implement execution strategies and tactics to develop each point of sale, ensuring a consistent in-store linear-footage growth

Key Experience and Education


Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related commercial field education
  • 10+ years sales leadership experience, preferably in a CPG with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and Warehouse/Direct ship model experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated people and business growth capability
  • Proven ability to coach and lead Sales Representatives and other leaders.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills in both, English and French (mandatory)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • The role involves a mix of in-store/market, office-based, and virtual collaboration work. Will require travel as required to meet with stakeholders or to attend industry events.
