Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of accounting experience

Job Summary

As an Accounts Payable Associate, you'll perform the duties necessary to maintain financial records and assist with the general operations of the Finance team by processing invoices & payments, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers, and maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the reputation of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness and proper authorization
  • Set up/maintain suppliers and partners in the accounting system(s)
  • Prepare and process payments, which may include checks and ACH payments
  • Review invoices and verify that they comply with organizational policies and are approved for payment
  • Prepare check batches for payment and process daily check requests
  • Follow up with leadership to get approval on unapproved invoices
  • Respond to inquiries and research and resolve concerns or discrepancies from vendors, suppliers, external clients, internal clients, and/or team members
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and relevant regulations
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function
