Role Description

The Senior Business System Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing system solutions, and ensuring seamless integration of technology with business processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in systems analysis, requirements gathering, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results. While primarily based in Toronto, ON, this role offers flexibility for some remote work.


Key Responsibilities


1. Requirements Analysis:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business and system requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.


2. System Design and Integration:

  • Analyze current systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and integration opportunities.
  • Work closely with technical teams to design and implement system solutions that meet business needs.


3. Documentation:

  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), process flows, and user stories.
  • Maintain up-to-date system documentation for future reference.


4. Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases and scenarios.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system changes meet requirements.


5. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Conduct workshops and meetings to gather feedback and refine solutions.


6. Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Perform data analysis to support decision-making and identify trends or issues.
  • Use data visualization tools to present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.


7. Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Provide guidance to junior analysts and contribute to the development of best practices in business system analysis.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and projects.


Qualifications


Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of system architectures and software development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience with database querying and data visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI).


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to manage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.


Must-Have: Experience in wealth management platforms & finance sector.
